- The name Utahraptor comes from Latin words meaning “Utah’s thief“.
- The design of the legs and arms suggests that if this dinosaur was a predator, it was capable of balancing better than smaller dromaeosaurs.
- Utahraptor is the largest of the dromaeosaurs, and was likely feathered, though no proof of feathers has been found.
- Several fossils of Utahraptor have been found in one location around a herbivore fossil, with one suggestion being that they were drawn to the herbivore and got caught in quicksand, or something similar.
