The Fifth World Power of Bible Prophecy – Greece

Key Verses Daniel 7:6; 8:5, 8, 21, 22; 11:2, 3
Time 331 BCE to 30 BCE

Learning Point

  • Greece was a powerful and swift world power that quickly replaced the Medo-Persian empire. Within a few short years it had taken control of the entirety of that empire, spared Jerusalem destruction, and reached the edge of India.
  • Greece impacted God’s people in that it didn’t enslave them, allowing them to worship Jehovah mostly uninterrupted. It also introduced the Koine Greek language, the language used for most of the Christian Greek Scriptures.
