- Jehovah provided clear instructions on the construction and use of the Ark of the Covenant in his worship. He also forteold that one day it would no longer be there for his people.

- Bezalel was assigned to construct the Ark according to Jehovah’s design, with Oholiab assisting him.
- It was moved to the temple constructed by Solomon once it had been completed.
- The Ark didn’t protect the Israelites when disobedient, but was like Jehovah’s chariot when he was described as sitting above it in the Most Holy.
- It seems to have been moved from the temple on at least two occasions, once before King Josiah returned it, and the other around the time of the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem in 607 BCE.
- The Roman General Pompey confirmed that the Ark of the Covenant wasn’t in the temple in the year 63 CE.
