Mount Sinai, the mountain where Moses received the Ten Commandments, has been identified as possibly two different mountains. Many feel it is Jebel Musa, which means “Mountain of Moses“, but it is more likely to have been Ras Safsafa, which fits the description in the Bible better.
Local Bedouins have used the name Jebel Musa name for centuries, linking the mountain to the biblical story.
Ras Safsafa has a plain in front of it big enough for the nation of Israel to assemble in, making it the more likely option.
Mount Sinai is also calledMount Horeb in the bible.
