Fun Facts
- Meadows can help with climate change as they can absorb large amounts of carbon which contributes to pollution.
- In agriculture (farming), meadows are often use to describe fields that are allowed to grow for animals to eat (pastures), or for growing hay to be collected for in the winter.
- In some places, fields left to grow wild will create temporary (transitional) meadows until the woodlands reclaim then. Native Americans helped to create vast meadows be regularly removing trees.
- Permanent (perpetual) meadows occur where naturally trees don’t disrupt the growth of plants and grasses, perhaps because of soil or temperatures.
