Maletsunyane Falls is a tall waterfall in the country of Lesotho. It is picturesque, and a beautiful example of a horsetail waterfall. Though not the tallest falls in Africa, the drop is dramatic, and a great example of the classic image we have of waterfalls.
The falls cause an echo around the basin at the bottom of the falls.
The nearby village of Semonkong is named after the falls because it is a “place of smoke“, referring to the mist that comes from the waterfall.
At 630 ft high, it is the tallest waterfall in Lesotho.
