Learning Point
- The city of Troy was a real city, but legends created by the Greeks have led to ideas of how it rose and fell as a city that may not be based in fact. The story of the Trojan Horse has no evidence in history, other than it being mentioned in the Greek histories. The city was clearly powerful, and some of the excavations suggest there may be some truth in parts of its history as the Greeks wrote.
