Middle Cavea of the Theatre
Learning Point
- The middle cavea, or seating section, was the not as steep as the upper cavea. It had a reduced number of staircases that allowed access to the different levels, as well as entrances (paradoses) from the inside of the theatre to a slightly wider central section of the diazoma, or walkway, that existed at the foot of the cavea.
