- The garden of Eden may have been a part of the land the Bible describes as Eden.
- It had one river that split into four, two of which exist in some form today, the Euphrates and the Tigris (called Hiddekel in the account in Genesis).
- The name ‘Eden’ means ‘pleasure’, and the Greek word used to describe the word for garden is where we get the word ‘paradise’ from.
- It is likely that the garden was surrounded by some natural barrier, such as mountains.
- The garden likely was destroyed in the Flood.
