- The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s most spectacular natural wonders, rising dramatically up to 700 feet above the crashing Atlantic Ocean. Running for about nine miles along the western coast of County Clare, these magnificent cliffs are made of rock layers that were formed over 300 million years ago from river sediment. Besides the breathtaking views, they are a major hotspot for wildlife, providing a nesting ground for over 30,000 birds, including adorable puffins.
