The castle was built to be <strong>able to withstand sieges<\/strong>, and was designed in a way that would have <strong>intimidated the local Welsh people<\/strong>. It was <strong>built in stages<\/strong>, and was <strong>one of the most expensive castles<\/strong> of the time, or in the next few centuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<h4
