It was a <strong>cruel and powerful<\/strong> nation.<\/li>\n<li>They <strong>successfully invaded<\/strong> part of the territory of <strong>Israel and Judah<\/strong>, dealing a crushing blow to the ten tribe northern kingdom when it <strong>destroyed the city of Samaria<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>replaced Egypt<\/strong> as the dominant power, trying to control God&#8217;s people, though <strong>Jehovah delivered them<\/strong> when he <strong>destroyed Sennacherib&#8217;s army<\/strong>. They <strong>remained dominant<\/strong> in the area until <strong>Babylon replaced<\/strong> them as world power.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column captives, and <strong>depicting it on their temple and palace walls<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sennacherib <\/strong>recorded his <strong>attack on Judah and Jerusalem<\/strong>, <strong>boasting <\/strong>about it, though he <strong>exaggerated the tribute<\/strong> Hezekiah paid.
