Carved over millions of years by the Verdon River, it features dramatic <strong>2,200 feet high cliffs <\/strong>and startling <strong>turquoise-green water &#8211; <\/strong>a color caused by <strong>glacial minerals<\/strong>. It remained <strong>largely unexplored until 1905<\/strong> but is now a global <strong>hotspot for rock climbing and kayaking<\/strong>.
