Over millions of years, <strong>rainwater dissolved the soft rock<\/strong>, creating a <strong>6-mile labyrinth<\/strong> of jagged <strong>stalactites <\/strong>and narrow <strong>passageways<\/strong>. This geology <strong>turned dangerous in 2018<\/strong> when <strong>monsoon rains<\/strong> soaked the mountain; the limestone acted like a <strong>giant sponge<\/strong>, <strong>funneling water<\/strong> into the <strong>cave <\/strong>and <strong>trapping a youth soccer team <\/strong>deep inside. If you look at the mountain from far away, it looks exactly like a giant woman lying down for a nap!<\/li>\n<li>This isn&#8217;t just a small hole in the ground; it\u2019s a massive cave system that stretches for over <strong>6 miles<\/strong> (10 kilometers) underground. That\u2019s like walking across 100 soccer fields!<\/li>\n<li>The famous soccer team trapped there was called the <em>Moo Pa<\/em>, which translates to &#8220;Wild Boars.&#8221; They showed everyone just how brave and tough they were while waiting for help.<\/li>\n<li>To save the team, divers had to swim through water so muddy and dark they couldn&#8217;t even see their own hands!
