Learning Point
- There is still discussion about what objects in our Solar System should be classed as Dwarf Planets, though most people accept there are at least nine. Ceres, Pluto, Eris, Quaoar, Makemake, Gonggong, Haumea, Orcus and Sedna. These objects are more or less ball shaped (spherical) and may even have moons, but they are not big enough to remove other similar objects from their area of space.

Fun Facts
- Pluto and Eris are the two largest, but only about two thirds the size of our Moon.
- Pluto could be a binary dwarf planet, as Charon is large enough to be counted along side it as a dwarf planet.
- Sedna is the most distant object found.
- Sedna and Ceres are the only two not to have moons.
