Fun Facts

  • We call the writing part of the pencil ‘lead‘, but lead was never used, it has always been graphite.
  • Clay is mixed with graphite in varying amounts to create different shades.
  • 600,000 pencils are made each day in the Faber-Castell factory.
  • They can be dropped from over 75 ft and not break!
