  • The name Dilophosaurus means “two-crested lizard“.
  • When the first fossils of Dilophosaurus were discovered, the crest was missed at first, only years later being identified on other fossils of the dinosaur.
  • fossil of an infant Dilophosaurus has also been discovered, one of the earliest infant dinosaurs found in North America.
  • The Dilophosaurus in the Jurassic Park movie was made smaller than in real life, and was given a neck frill, something there is no evidence it had in real life.
