The name Dilophosaurus means “two-crested lizard“.
When the first fossils of Dilophosaurus were discovered, the crest was missed at first, only years later being identified on other fossils of the dinosaur.
A fossil of an infant Dilophosaurus has also been discovered, one of the earliest infant dinosaurs found in North America.
The Dilophosaurus in the Jurassic Park movie was made smaller than in real life, and was given a neck frill, something there is no evidence it had in real life.
