Fun Facts

  • The name Ceratosaurus means “horn lizard” in Greek.
  • The horn on its head was likely for display in some form.
  • It was unusual among other theropods in that it had four fingers on its hands, though how big, and how many contained claws is unknown.
  • It had osteoderms (skin bones) on its body, including along its spine, and in other places that we are less certain of
