That eruption wiped out the people that lived on the island. The island group is a caldera, famous for it’s beautiful views and fertile land.

  • The island is now a caldera, the left over remnants of the island before that eruption.

  • That volcano is one of the Decade volcanoes that are being observed because of the potential devastation of any future eruption.
