- The journey to Jerusalem would have been uphill from most places in Israel, climbing into the mountains that surrounded the city.
- The temple Zerubbabel built lasted longer than the temple built by Solomon's, and was used by the Messiah, Jesus.
- The temple of Zerubabbel was built over 22 years. The later was setup in 537 BCE and the final work completed on March 6, 515 BCE.
- Though Herod the Great effectively built a new temple, the Jews viewed it as being a rebuilding of the temple by Zerubbabel.
- Herod's temple was built over a long time. By Jesus' time they people said it had taken 46 years to build, but really it wasn't completed until about 64 CE.
