- The Passover was the preparation meal the Israelites held before their Exodus from Egypt. With them obediently preparing and eating it, they demonstrated faith in Jehovah and showed they had chosen him.
- The route they took out of Egypt was not a direct one, and would have ensure the Israelites didn't have to fight the Philistines, while giving Jehovah an opportunity to humiliate the proud Egyptian's under Pharaoh.

- Exiting Egypt and journeying along the coast route would have brought the Israelites through Philistine territory, something Jehovah didn't want them to do at that time
- The Israelites turned back on themselves in their route out, creating an area where they would be trapped by the Egyptians, and would then see Jehovah's salvation.
- In addition to the lamb or goat, the Israelites ate unleavened bread and bitter greens as part of the Passover meal. It was a meal prepared in a hurry.
- Parents used the Passover to teach their children about Jehovah God.
- The deliverance of Israel at the Red Sea and the destruction of the Egyptian army demonstrates how Jehovah will protect faithful ones.
